From last night’s Selected Shorts, Nora and I talking about things literary.
Thanks to everyone, and hello, Tumblr!
From Selected Shorts:
A behind-the-scenes look at the making of a play from a short story, with readings and discussion between the author For the Relief of Unbearable Urges and his mentor and friend.
Actors Michael Stuhlbarg (Hugo, Boardwalk Empire, A Serious Man) and Bill Irwin read Englander’s story “The Twenty-Seventh Man,” which he is developing into a play for the Public Theater, and “The Reader” from his brand-new collection to be released by Knopf in February.
The evening will include a reading of “The Secretary” by Deborah Willis performed by Arian Moayed (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo), from the Selected Shorts Commissioning Project.
