From last night’s Selected Shorts, Nora and I talking about things literary.

Thanks to everyone, and hello, Tumblr!

From Selected Shorts:

A behind-the-scenes look at the making of a play from a short story, with readings and discussion between the author For the Relief of Unbearable Urges and his mentor and friend.

Actors Michael Stuhlbarg (HugoBoardwalk EmpireA Serious Man) and Bill Irwin read Englander’s story “The Twenty-Seventh Man,” which he is developing into a play for the Public Theater,  and “The Reader” from his brand-new collection to be released by Knopf in February.

The evening will include a reading of “The Secretary” by Deborah Willis performed by Arian Moayed (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo), from the Selected Shorts Commissioning Project.
